Ultrasonic technologies in metallurgy and hardware industryOne of the main tasks in manufacture of covered rolled metal (with zinc, copper, enamel) is preparation of a surface. It consists of removal of dust and grease from a surface of metal. Pollution is a principal cause of covering defects: flaking, incomplete zincing. For cleaning metal surfaces various methods are used: mechanical, chemical, electrochemical. These methods have essential disadvantages. Mechanical cleaning is ineffective, demands the complex equipment or hand work, can damage cleaned surface. At chemical cleaning toxic and inflammable solvents are used, the high temperature of a washing solution is often required. Electrochemical cleaning relates to big consumption of the electric power and demands complex equipment. Application of ultrasound allows to overcome the before-mentioned disadvantages. The ultrasound does not damage the cleaned surface. Dangerous solvents may be replaced by water solutions of technical washing liquids. It is possible to decrease temperature of a washing solution and foaming. It is important, that ultrasonic cleaning does not cancel other methods and can be used simultaneously with them for their intensification due to specific effects of ultrasound (cavitation, etc.). The experience gained by us allows to project and make the different devices for cleaning of wire and metal tape, adapted to conditions of concrete manufacture. The technology of cleaning is constantly being improved. For the fullest transfer of ultrasonic fluctuations transducers are placed directly in washing solution. The distance between transducers and a cleaned surface is precisely adjusted to avoid «dead zones». Power of ultrasound and arrangement of transducers is chosen based on type and level of pollution and speed of movement of a wire or a tape. The before-mentioned factors make our equipment one of the most effective both in Russia, and in the world. |
